No, I Don’t Care If You Don’t Want to Chat with Me.

Have you ever gotten those stupid chain letter that say "Do you want to know who deleted you from their contact list?." I ask my self, what’s the point of all that?, why would I be interested on knowing who doesn’t want to talk to me? After all, if they don’t want to talk to me, it’s them who are missing the opportunity to talk to me and not the other way around. Why is people always caring about being loved for everybody? I have my friends, parents, and relatives, and their love towards me is more that enough. If someone else is willing to meet me, and make a relationship whether it’s friendship or something else, it’s very welcomed, but if someone is just trying to not talking to me or not meeting me at all I don’t care.

Fortunately, my friends would tell me face to face if they just didn’t want to talk to me anymore, and so would I. I don’t need any service to find out who deleted me from their contact list because seriously, I don’t care. The funny thing is that it’s really easy to stop stupid chain letters like the one I’m talking about or like the one that says that they’ll charge for the service on Hotmail. The only think we have to do when we get one of those stupid e-mails is not send it and that’s it. By the way, I (and everybody I guess) got long a go a mail from the real team of Hotmail saying that the letter was just a lie, (something I knew already) and intent to collect e-mail addresses to be sold for advertisement (spam), and that is what most chain letters are about. They are not about how much you love your friends, or how much Jesus loves you, or how bad christian you are if you don’t send the letter because you are ashamed of Jesus. They are about e-mail addresses and the profits they can generate. If you want to tell your friends how much you love them, take five minutes and write them what you really fell not just send them what someone else was "feelling".

Has obtenido alguna vez una de esas cadenitas diciendo “Quieres saber quien te ha borrado de su lista de contactos?” Yo me pregunto, De que se trata todo esto?, Por que querría yo saber quien no quiere hablar conmigo?. Después de todo son ellos quien se pierden la oportunidad de contactarme y no al revés. Por que la gente esta siempre tratando de ser amada por todos? Yo tengo mis amigos, mis padres y mis familiares y su amor por mi es mas que suficiente. Si alguien mas está tratando de formar una amistad conmigo es mas que bienvenido, pero si alguien está simplemente tratando de no hablar conmigo o no conocerme para nada, entonces no me importa.

Afortunadamente mis amigos me dirían en la cara si no quisieran hablar mas conmigo y yo lo haría también. No necesito ningún servicio para saber quien me ha borrado de su lista de contactos por que en serio, no me importa. Lo curiosos es que cadenitas como esta o la que dice que van a cobrar por el messanger se pueden detener fácilmente, lo único que tenemos que hacer es no mandarlas cuando recibimos una. Por cierto, a mi (y creo que a todos) me llego un mail del verdadero equipo de Hotmail diciendo que todo es un fraude y un intento por conseguir direcciones de correo electrónico para ser usadas en publicidad (spam) y eso es de lo que la mayoría de cadenitas se trata. No es acerca de cuanto amas a  tus amigos, o de cuanto te amo Jesús o de lo mal cristiano que eres si no envías la cadenita por que te avergüenzas de Jesús. Es todo acerca de cuentas de correo y de las ganancias que pueden generar. Si quieres decirle a tus amigos cuanto los amas, tomate cinco minutos y escribeles realmente lo que siente y no lo que alguien mas estaba “sintiendo”.

1+ link on hotmail messages.

I already posted a tutorial on how to add 1+ links in your hotmail signature. Well, some of you have asked how to put 1+ link in the body of your emails. Doing that is easier than you think, and even easier than putting 1+ links in the signature of your e-mails. Please reed bilingual blogger’s comment on the post mentioned earlier before you get too excited about this post. The technique I’ll explain has been proved using Firefox 2 on a Mac and Firefox 2 on a PC using the basic version of windows live hotmail.

1 Write your email.
2 Select the text you want to convert into a link.
3 Click the insert link button.
4 Insert the link.
5 Reload the page
6 Repeat steps 1 to 5 for every new link.

As you can see it’s really easy. Now, if you try this technique using Windows Live Hotmail complete version you’ll se that it doesn’t work. It is possible, however, to insert more than one link in your emails using firefox and the complete version of Windows Live Hotmail. To do this, it’s necessary to use firebug, but that’ll be discussed in another post.

I just tryed this technique in Firefox 3 with teh complete version of windows live hotmail and it seems to work, but I’m not sure about it. What I’m sure about is that it doesn’t work in Firefox 2 with the complete version of windows live hotmail.

Hace tiempo publique un post acerca de como agregar mas de un enlace a tu firma en hotmail. Bueno, algunos han preguntado como poner mas de un enlace en el cuerpo de tu correo. Hacer eso es mas facil de lo que crees e incluso mas facil que poner mas de un enlace en tu firma. Lee el comentario de bilibual blogger en el post mencionado anteriormente antes de emocionarte demasiado con esta tecnica. La tecnica que boy a explicar ha sido provada en Firefo2 mac usando la version vasica de windows live hotmail y en firefox 2 en windows usando la version vasica de windows live hotmail.

1 Escribe tu correo
2 Selecciona el texto que quieres convertir en enlace
3Presiona el botón de insertar enlace
4 Inserta el enlace
5 Refresca la pagina
6 Repite los pasos 1 al 5 por cada enlace nuevo.

Como puedes ver es realmente simple. Ahora que si pruevas esta técnica usando la version completa de wiondows live hotmail te daras cuenta de que no funciona. Es posible insertar mas de un vinculo usando Firefos y la vercion completa de windows live hotmail. PAra hacer esto es necesario usar Firebub, pero eso sera para otro tutorial. Hace un momento prove esta tecnica usando Firefox 3 y la vercion completa de windows live hiotmail y al parecer funciona, pero aun no estoy seguro de eso. De lo que si estoy seguro es de que esta tecninca no funciona usando Firefox 2 y la vercion completa de windows live hotmail.

I don’t know if this happens to you too, but  it happened to me that when I wanted to add more than one link to my hotmail signature, I couldn’t. Hotmail would allowed me to use the link button no more than one time. It seems that theyr’e trying to prevent us from advertising more than one website in our signature. However, we want to advertise more than one. So I was thinking for a little while about the matter and had an idea. “What if I save my signature whit one link and then I come back to add another link?”. I did so, and now I have more than one link in my signature. Whenever I want to add a new link the only think I have to do is go back and add the new link, save the signature and that’s it. So, if you have the same problem try with this technique!

No se si te pase lo mismo a ti, pero a mi me paso que cuando quice agregar mas de un enlace a mi firma en hotmail no pude. Hotmail no me dejaba usar el boton de enlaces mas de una vez. Al parecer estan tratyando de evitar que hagamos publicidad a mas de un sitio web en nuestra firma, pero nosotros queremos hacer publicidad a mas de un sitio web. Estuve pensando por un ratito en el asunto y tuve una idea. “Que tal si guardo mi firma con un elance y luego regreso a agregar otro enlace?”. Eso hice, y ahora tengo mas de un enlace en mi firma. Cuando quier agregar un enlace nuevo lo único que tengo que hacer es editar mi firma, agregar el enlace nuevo y eso es todo. Así que, si tu tienes el mismo problema prueba con esta técnica!

Once you have found out how to use your own style sheets, use the following rules to hide the ads on hotmail:

    display: none !important;

}
The logic behind this trick is very simple. Since user style sheet allow users to specify how websites should be displayed, we can specify that some divs should be hidden. These divs are the ones that contain the ads. So far I’ve hidden the ones I’ve identified. It seems to me that I hid all the ads in a hotmail account that uses either the complete version of windows live hotmail or the basic version.

If you find more ads, let me know and I’ll hide them for you.

An illustrated version of this tutorial is coming soon. That version is thinking of those who do not understand CSS or do not know how to personalize their browser’s user style sheets.

Lo primero que deves hacer es investigar como usar hojas de estilo personalizadas en tu navegador. Yo uso Firefox en mi Mac y esta es la forma de usar hojas de estilo personalizadas en firefox(Ingles).

Una vez que sepas como usar tus propias hojas de estilo ent u navegador, bastara con especificar las siguiente reglas:

La logica detras de ese truco es muy sencilla. Usar hojas de estilo personalizadas nos permite especificar como deven mostrarse algunso elementos en nuestro navegador, de esta manera podemos especificar que algunos divs no deven ser mostrados. Especificamente ocultamos aquellos que contiene la publicidad en hotmail. Al parecer yo eh escondido toda la publicidad de una cuenta de hotmail que usa ya sea la vercion completa o la vercion basica de windows live hotmail. Si encuentras mas publicidad hasmelo saber y la ocultare para ti.

Espera un tutorial ilustrado para aquellos que no entienden nada de CSS o que son unos novatos en el uso de exploradores…
